What data is processed
Account
When you sign in with Sign in with Apple, the app receives a user identifier issued by Apple and, if you agree to share it, your email address. If you use Apple's private email relay, that address is a relay address. You can also continue as a guest. In that case an anonymous identifier is created that is tied to the installation.
Content
- Product catalog: product names, categories, spellings
- Shopping lists: entries, free text quantities, status
- Purchase history: which item was marked as bought and when
- Settings: category order, number of suggestions
There is no advertising, no tracking, no analytics or crash reporting and no sharing with third parties for advertising purposes.
Purpose and legal basis
The data is processed solely to provide the shopping list, to sync it between your devices and input channels, and to derive suggestions from your own purchase history. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, performance of a contract.
Storage location and processors
Data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the region europe-west3 (Frankfurt am Main, Germany). Authentication, the database and the function behind the Claude connector run on Firebase (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC) as processors. The app also keeps a local copy on your device so it works without a connection.
Siri and Shortcuts
When you add items through Siri, Apple converts your speech to text and passes it to the app. Apple's privacy policy applies to that speech recognition. Mercado only receives the finished text and stores it like any other input.
Claude connector
The connector is optional and has to be connected by you. After signing in with Apple, the service receives a time limited access token that points only at your own data. Once connected, Claude can read your list, add to it, check items off and finish a shopping trip. You can disconnect at any time in Claude.
Retention and deletion
Data is kept until you delete it. In the app, under Profile, Delete all data, you will find a function that permanently removes items, lists, purchase history and settings and closes the account. A message to the address above works as well.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. An email to travelsync.info@gmail.com is enough.
